1835 Erected By FRANCIS GREAT seaman In memory of his brother JOHN GREAT seaman who arrived at Dundee with the Friendship from Davis Straits on the 4th Oct 1833 in good health and was seized with cholera on the 8th and died the 9th October 1833 aged 27 years also of his father ROBERT GREAT Seaman who died the 10th January 1837 aged 67 years I left the seas at Gods command, Where oft I have been toss'd; But now I fear not rocks nor sands, Being on a quite safe coast. Now here I silently doth lie, Till Christ, my glorious head, Once with his quick'ning voice shall cry, and raise me from the dead.
