1829 Erected By ROBERT McGAVIN Manufacturer Lochee and ELIZABETH NICOLL his spouse in memory of their son WILLIAM who died 14th August 1828 aged 27 years also JAMES and JOHN who died in infancy also their son ALEXANDER died 22nd Dec 1833 aged 22 years the above named ROBERT McGAVIN died on the 10th July 1837 aged 64 years the above named ELIZABETH NICOLL died 27th September 1845 aged 77 years Affliction share not the blooming youth, nor reverence the venerable old man. Even age itself what is it ? An incurable distemper, always terminating in death.
