Inscription.

Here lyes Robert Birle, Shipmaster in Dundee, who died the 7th of October 1726, aged 33.

Tho Boreas blasts on Neptunes waves,

Hath toss'd me to and fro,

Yet by the order of Gods decree,

I harbour here below;

Where now I lye at anchor safe,

With many of our fleet,

Expecting one day to set sail,

My Admiral Christ to meet.
