1831 Erected By JAMES SPANKLE manufacturer in memory of his brother PETER who died 12th July 1830 aged 56 years _______ Also of his spouse JEAN CLARK who died the 9th of June 1840 aged 74 years the above named JAMES SPANKIE died the 15th March 1844 aged 65 years also in memory of HELEN STEELE spouse of JAMES SPANKIE Merchant Dundee who died the 20th August 1854 on the 14th Jan 1856 JAMES SPANKIE Jun aged 28 years was drowned at Marlee by the breaking of ice on the loch ( His remains are ) interred here
