Erected By DAVID SMYTH mason Hawkhill in memory of his son WILLIAM who died 22 September 1804 aged 3 years Fair was the promise of that flowers, But short alas! its destined hour, And might at once the opening bud, But the rise a country o'er whose plains, Eternal spring unfading reigns; There Jesus all his glory wears, And God's eternal throne appears.
