Momoriae ae virtuti Marguritae Patersone inxoris suae chariss Jabobus Cochran mercator civis Deidononsis honebat quae obiit die 30 mensis Mastii anno dui 1628 aetatis suae 34. Non citius nascimur ad terram possidendam quam mors egreditur sepulchrum ad vitam occupadum 1629.

Erected by James Cochrane, merchant Dundee for his wife Margaret Paterson who died 30th of March 1628 aged 34 years.


James Cochrane, Merchant and citizen of Dundee, erected this to the memory and virtue of Margaret Paterson his dearest wife, who died 10th March, in the year of the Lord 1628, and of his age 34.

We are no sooner born to possess the earth, than death marches from the tomb to seize us. 1629.
